Terra Ag Water Markets update - 4th May 2023

  • With end of season fast approaching check your transfer requirements now before trade restrictions take effect at the end of May.

  • Murrumbidgee River and Coly Irrigation trading will cease 31st May,

  • Murrumbidgee Irrigation and NSW Murray zones will remain open for trade until 30th June

  • Murray Irrigation yet to announce but normally closes the week before 30th June

  • Anybody with carryover in these zones take note for last dates of lodgement onto Holders accounts/licences

 

  • Allocation continues its race to the bottom across all zones:

      • Murrumbidgee: $3

      • NSW Murray (below choke): $5

      • Vic Goulburn & Murray: $10

      • NSW Murray (above choke): $1

 

  • Carryover availability has tightened right in post easter and now it looks likely that a lot of Vic water without a carryover home will roll the dice on High Security space and see what happens in the new season.

    • Goulburn Valley: $80-$90

    • NSW Murray (above choke): $80-$85

    • Murrumbidgee: $130

    • Vic Murray (below choke): $115

 

  • Forward Water has been steady with buyer interest lifting across the board in previous fortnight:

    • Murrumbidgee: $150 Sep delivery (there are market reports a forward water trade has been completed at $145 on July delivery)

    • Murray (above choke): $85

    • Goulburn: $105-$110

    • Vic Murray (below choke): asking $150

 

  • Permanent markets have steadied over the last month with smaller parcels in Vic zones picking up buyer interest. This is most likely due to timing of the season coming into 30 June, any water to come to market may now wait until July for financial reasons. The other factor underlining is the current Government tender open for expressions – markets will be looking for a signal from this tender in June/July.

      • Vic Murray (below choke) - $130/ML

  • 925ML Murrumbidgee General Security - $ MAKE AN OFFER – SOLD

    • 135ML Murrumbidgee Irrigation Supplementary - $$ CALL – SOLD

  • 393ML Lower Murrumbidgee Groundwater – Zone 2 - $$ MAKE AN OFFER
